LOST IN CHIANG MAI
OVERVIEW
With an early start to your morning, bring good luck and fortune to your life by offering alms to monks – the oldest and most common Buddhist ritual. Your English-speaking guide will provide detailed descriptions of the religious traditions you will take part in today – a firsthand look at true Thai culture! The drive up to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep will amaze you as you wind through the lush green forest and climb through the clouds to reach the famous golden pagoda. Pay respect to the Buddhist relic, get blessed with holy water, and receive a white-string bracelet as a good luck token from the local monk. Stunning panoramic views of Chiang Mai city can be enjoyed from the temple grounds. Back in the city, we will explore the royal temple of Wat Phra Singh, then enjoy a famous Northern Thai dish for lunch – Khao Soi noodles! Trishaws (three-wheeled bike taxis) will then take us to Wararot Market for some souvenir shopping. If you are feeling overwhelmed at the vast amount of fisherman pants, artisanal silver jewelry, handwoven fabrics, and varied snacks, take a calming stroll through the flower market along the riverside – home to intricate traditional arrangements and wonderful fragrances! After a day of immersion in Thai culture and merit-making, we will return you to your hotel to enjoy the rest of your day. A Thai massage might sound good right about now!
